During the course of our stay in Jerusalem we were able to visit the All Nations Convocation two times and the Lord showed off His favor over us getting us in (Leslie and Jim showed off their sweet talking skills as well)!! The All Nations Convocation is a huge international gathering that happens during the 10 days of awe between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur every year just outside Jerusalem. It’s organized by a man named Tom Hess and there were about 1000 people there from every part of the world.
I saw Africans and Asians and Americans and Indians and South Americans and every other kind of people that you can imagine. It was so amazing to hear everyone pray in their different languages. Apparently it’s quite a full conference with all kinds of teaching and worship and seminars and tours and things that go on, the two parts we were there for were more like main sessions. The first time was one of our first evenings in Jerusalem and it was all about the south east Asian nations, Korea, China, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia…so leaders from each country or area would stand up and share a brief update on what was going on in their nation or region and then they would call up other leaders from surrounding nations to pray for them. The lighting was really bad so some of the time I just took pictures of the screen so that you could see who the people were.

This was the only woman that I saw get up to represent a country in the two times that I was there and she was FIERCE.

Leader from Malaysia
She was the leader representing the country of Malaysia and she got up there and talked about what the Lord was doing and then began declaring Isaiah 62 over her nation, that Malaysia will build up the highway and remove every stumbling block from the way of the Lord’s people…it was very intense! Then a pastor from South Korea stood up and prayed for Malaysia via a translator and that was also very intense! Then another pastor (from the states) I think also got up to pray for her and got the whole room into intercessor for Malaysia. It’s powerful to listen to people praying around you in many different languages but all pouring out their hearts to the Lord!
The worship was lead by a man from India and it was really fun and way different than anything that I’m used to for sure!
I’ve noticed that a lot of people in the international body do a lot of older songs, from the early 90s – Shout to the Lord era – that I grew up with but haven’t heard in years. It was fun because for the most part I was at least familiar with most of the songs that were played or sung.

This little girl is the daughter of the man with the flag above.
There were people dancing with flags from many nations at the front of the room.

The second time we went was much later in our trip on the last day of the conference. They were focusing more on South America and the worship was lead by a young worship leader named Anna Paula from Brazil.

Aside from being a beautiful person in appearance (that seems to be a trend with worship leaders, there really aren’t any ugly worship leaders…) she had a beautiful voice that is a classic worship leader sound, very clean and pure and pretty. Her father spoke about prayers that the Lord loves to hear and answer and she translated the message. His five prayers were: search me, break me, transform me, fill me, use me.
Then Dr Miles Monroe from the Bahamas spoke about the Kingdom which was a very intense message, he encouraged note taking and I took many notes from his message. He spoke super fast and had long lists of points on power point, definitely a speaker whose CD you buy later and take more notes on hehe or hope that he has the outlines available. He talked about how the Kingdom is about colonization and how the Romans were the first ones who really brought this style of Kingdom advancement into play. He talked about how the Romans would send a governor and 300 Roman citizens into each area that the conquered because with 300 people you can create a culture. When you colonize a place the first thing that changes is the language, the second thing is the culture itself (food, clothing, belief system…), the third thing is the history (you remove the old history and give them the Kingdom history – like the Lord does with us at salvation.) The goal of a colony is to transform a territory into the Kingdom so that if you’ve seen the colony you’ve seen the Kingdom. I have a lot of notes on this that I may share in a later post or post on another blog and link to here because it was interesting. I don’t want to overload you with information.
If you really want to know I’m sure you could get copies of the messages or DVDs from the conference on their website.
